We are seeking a skilled and motivated Journeyman Electrician to join our team at Freedom Electric and Construction. Duties
- Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems including high-voltage wiring, low-voltage systems, and electrical panels on construction sites and renovation projects
- Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to accurately execute wiring layouts and system configurations
- Use hand tools, power tools, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic equipment to identify issues and ensure proper functioning of electrical systems
- Perform electrical diagnostics to locate faults efficiently and implement effective repair strategies
- Comply with all local electrical codes, NFPA 70 standards, NEC (National Electrical Code), and electrical safety procedures during all phases of work
- Install programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and other automation components for industrial applications
- Work safely with high-voltage electrical wiring and ensure adherence to all safety protocols to prevent accidents or injuries
- Collaborate with construction teams by providing expertise in blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, framing carpentry, and handyman tasks as needed
- Maintain detailed records of work performed, inspections completed, and parts used for each project
Requirements
- Valid Journeyman Electrician license or certification recognized by local authorities
- Proven experience as a residential, industrial or commercial electrician with a strong understanding of electrical systems in construction or renovation environments
- Extensive knowledge of local electrical codes, NFPA 70 compliance standards, NEC regulations, and electrical safety procedures
- Hands-on experience with high-voltage wiring, low-voltage systems, schematics reading, and troubleshooting electrical diagnostics
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, ohmmeters, multimeters (including the Ohmmeter function), and other diagnostic equipment
- Ability to read blueprints and technical schematics accurately for installation and troubleshooting purposes
- Experience working on construction sites with a focus on safety protocols and hazard awareness
- Strong problem-solving skills combined with excellent attention to detail in diagnosing electrical issues
- Physical ability to perform manual tasks including lifting heavy equipment, climbing ladders/scaffolding, framing carpentry tasks, and working in confined spaces

Pay: $36.00 - $42.00 per hour
