Responsibilities
- Assist licensed electricians in installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems on construction sites and facilities.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings to support project execution.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing equipment such as ohmmeters to troubleshoot circuits and ensure proper wiring.
- Follow all electrical safety procedures, including NFPA 70 (National Fire Protection Association code) compliance, to maintain a safe work environment.
- Support the setup of low voltage and high voltage systems, adhering to NEC (National Electrical Code) standards.
- Participate in construction activities such as frame carpentry when needed for electrical installations.
- Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, including inspection reports and schematic updates.
Qualifications
- Prior experience or training in industrial or commercial electrician work is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with electrical blueprint reading, schematic interpretation, and electrical blueprint reading is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code), NEC standards, and electrical safety procedures.
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and testing devices like ohmmeters safely and effectively.
- Construction site experience with exposure to high voltage and low voltage systems is advantageous.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to read schematics and interpret technical drawings accurately.
- Basic understanding of frame carpentry or related construction skills is a plus.
