Responsibilities
- Assist with concrete mixing, pouring, and finishing to create smooth, level surfaces according to project specifications
- Set up and dismantle formwork and scaffolding using hand tools and power tools, ensuring stability and safety
- Install rebar and metal reinforcement structures to strengthen concrete elements in compliance with blueprints and schematics
- Operate heavy equipment such as concrete pumps and mixers safely and efficiently on construction sites
- Follow blueprint specifications for layout, dimensions, and technical drawings to accurately execute construction plans
- Perform concrete cutting, grinding, and surface preparation tasks to achieve desired finishes and textures
- Adhere strictly to construction workplace safety regulations, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe handling of tools and materials
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge of tools, equipment, and machinery used in concrete work and general construction
- Experience interpreting technical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and construction plans for accurate execution
- Skilled in rebar installation, formwork construction, concrete pouring, finishing techniques, and concrete cutting
- Proficient with hand tools, power tools, heavy lifting techniques, and heavy equipment operation relevant to concrete projects
- Knowledge of construction estimating processes and ability to read blueprint specifications accurately
- Familiarity with various construction disciplines such as masonry, carpentry (including trim carpentry), roofing, plastering, stucco application, flooring installation, tile laying, restoration work, metal stud framing, welding, caulking, renovation projects, and working on commercial or residential sites
- Ability to interpret technical drawings or schematics related to concrete forms or structural elements
- Understanding of construction workplace safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment at all times
