I. JOB PURPOSE

Operate computer-controlled machine centers to perform one or more machine functions.

II. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

This is an entry level machinist
Access ERP system to log into specific work orders
Insert and load control instructions into machine control units to start operation
Pull set up sheet for the product/program
Load work pieces onto machine
Clean and maintain machines, tooling, and parts to maintain equipment in optimal production condition
Lift work pieces, fixtures, and vices to machine manually or with hoist or crane
Listen to machines during operation in order to detect sounds such as those made by dull cutting tools or excessive vibration and adjust machines to fix any problems
Remove and replace dull cutters
Measure dimensions of finished work pieces to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments, templates, and fixtures
Prep stock for upcoming work orders on the schedule as needed
Ability to run more than one work center
Work safely to prevent on-the-job injuries following all safety regulations
Report manufacturing problems to shift lead for troubleshooting and resolution
Must adhere to all company policies
Understand and follow quality management system procedures related to ISO 13485 Understand and follow Work Instructions and their related data collection documents (e.g., run sheets)
