Our client is looking to hire a skilled Layout Technician to support manufacturing and fabrication operations by transforming customer drawings into efficient production layouts and fabrication packages.
Pay: $28.00 - $34.00 per hour
Job Type: Full-time
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
Responsibilities:
- Interprets blueprints and CAD drawings to create precise 2D layouts and patterns on raw metal materials.
- Calculates bend allowances, marks reference points for cutting and fabrication, and ensures materials are accurately prepared for production.
- Utilizes strong blueprint reading, measuring, and trigonometry skills to support efficient fabrication processes.
- Develop efficient layouts that support a variety of products and accommodate frequent production changeovers.
- Recommend process and layout improvements to increase productivity, reduce waste, and lower manufacturing costs.
- Compile complete fabrication packages, including material layouts, assembly details, and equipment programming documentation.
- Analyze physical metal parts and recreate them accurately
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in sheet metal fabrication and reverse engineering
- Ability to read, interpret, and work from customer drawings, blueprints, and CAD files.
- Hands-on experience with sheet metal and plate fabrication processes, including forming operations and bend allowance calculations.
- Proficiency with CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar design platforms.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience creating fabrication packages for manufacturing environments.
- Knowledge of material planning, requisitions, and purchasing coordination.
- Familiarity with CNC programming support and manufacturing process optimization.
