We are currently seeking a highly skilled NICET Level III Fire Alarm Technician to join our growing team. Position Overview
The NICET III Fire Alarm Technician is responsible for the installation, programming, commissioning, inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of fire alarm systems. This role serves as a technical leader in the field and works closely with customers, project managers, inspectors, and apprentices to ensure successful project execution.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Install, inspect, test, service, troubleshoot, and repair commercial fire alarm systems.
- Program and commission fire alarm control panels and associated devices.
- Perform inspections in accordance with NFPA 72 and applicable local codes.
- Diagnose system deficiencies and recommend corrective actions.
- Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, wiring diagrams, and riser drawings.
- Complete inspection reports, service documentation, and deficiency reports accurately and timely.
- Coordinate with customers, contractors, AHJs, and internal team members.
- Train and mentor apprentice and junior technicians.
- Ensure compliance with company safety policies and industry standards.
- Participate in after-hours emergency service and on-call rotation as required.
QualificationsRequired
- Current NICET Level III Certification in Fire Alarm Systems
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the fire alarm industry
- Strong knowledge of NFPA 72, NEC, and fire alarm codes and standards
- Experience installing, programming, and troubleshooting commercial fire alarm systems
- Ability to read and understand construction plans and technical documents
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Preferred
- Experience with Notifier, Fire-Lite, Silent Knight, Edwards, Siemens, Bosch, or similar platforms
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification
- Experience working on government, military, healthcare, education, or large commercial projects
- Additional NICET certifications or state licenses
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Ability to climb ladders and work from elevated positions
- Ability to work in various indoor and outdoor environments
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and walk for extended periods
