Position Overview: We are looking for a Concrete Finisher who will be responsible for mixing, placing, finishing, protecting, and repairing concrete on various construction projects, including sidewalks, roads, curbs, and other structures. This position involves working with hand and power tools to shape and smooth concrete surfaces, interpreting blueprints and technical drawings, and ensuring finished work meets quality and safety standards. This position requires knowledge of concrete techniques and the ability to work with precision and efficiency in a physically demanding and safety-focused environment.
Responsibilities:
· Set forms, pour, level, and smooth concrete using hand tools, screeds, trowels, floats, and other finishing tools.
· Assist in the layout and setup of concrete forms and ensure proper alignment, grade, and elevation.
· Apply curing compounds, sealants, hardeners, and surface retarders as required by project specifications.
· Patch and repair existing concrete structures including crack repair, surface refinishing, and joint sealing.
· Follow all company & OSHA safety procedures and protocols; wear appropriate PPE and ensure a clean and hazard-free work area.
· Work closely with equipment operators, laborers, site foreman to ensure timely and accurate concrete placement.
· Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition and report malfunctions.
· Perform general labor duties related to concrete finishing, including site preparation and cleanup as needed.
Related Skills & Position Requirements:
· Skilled in using a wide range of concrete finishing tools and power equipment.
· Knowledge of concrete mix designs, setting times, and environmental impact on curing.
· Familiarity with industry safety standards and OSHA regulations.
· Strong teamwork and communication skills.
· Ability to take direction and work independently with minimal supervision.
· Must be dependable and cooperative, be adaptable/flexible, pay attention to detail, show initiative, be persistent, and have integrity and self-control.
Physical Demands:
· Ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
· Requires standing, bending, kneeling, and walking for long periods on uneven terrain.
· Regularly uses hands and arms to shovel, carry and operate power tools and equipment.
· Able to work in physically demanding conditions for extended periods, including repetitive movements and heavy lifting.
Work Environment:
· Work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, or snow.
· Construction sites may be located in remote or urban areas with varying terrain.
· May involve work at heights, near moving mechanical parts, or around heavy equipment.
· Regular exposure to concrete dust, chemicals, and noise typical of a construction site.
· Exposure to loud noises, vibrations, heat, humidity and dust.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $23.00 - $27.00 per hour
