NP Industries is a commercial door, frame, and hardware supplier serving general contractors across Utah and surrounding states. We specialize in Division 08 products including hollow metal doors and frames, wood doors, finish hardware, and specialty openings for commercial construction projects.
We are looking for a highly organized Project Manager who thrives in a fast-paced construction environment and can manage multiple projects from submittal through closeout.
Position Summary
The Project Manager is responsible for managing all administrative and procurement aspects of commercial door, frame, and hardware projects after award. This role coordinates with general contractors, architects, vendors, manufacturers, installers, and internal teams to ensure projects stay on schedule, materials are ordered accurately, and documentation is completed correctly.
Attention to detail is critical. The ideal candidate can read architectural drawings and specifications, coordinate complex hardware packages, manage hundreds or thousands of openings, and proactively solve problems before they impact project schedules.
Primary Responsibilities
Project Management
- Manage multiple commercial construction projects simultaneously from award through closeout.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned customers.
- Maintain project schedules and monitor upcoming milestones.
- Coordinate with general contractors, superintendents, architects, and subcontractors.
- Attend project meetings as needed.
- Track project progress and communicate schedule changes.
Submittals
Prepare and manage complete Division 08 submittal packages including:
- Hollow metal doors
- Hollow metal frames
- Wood doors
- Finish hardware
- Glass and glazing (when applicable)
- Specialty doors and frames
Responsibilities include:
- Reviewing architectural drawings and specifications.
- Verifying opening sizes.
- Reviewing hardware schedules.
- Checking fire ratings.
- Verifying ADA compliance.
- Coordinating manufacturer documentation.
- Responding to architect review comments.
- Revising submittals as necessary until approved.
Machine Sheets
Prepare accurate manufacturing documentation including:
- Door machine sheets.
- Frame machine sheets.
- Hardware preparation schedules.
- Reinforcement locations.
- Glass preparation.
- Louver preparation.
- Vision lite locations.
- Hinge, strike, closer, and hardware prep.
- Fire label requirements.
- Welded vs. knock-down frame requirements.
Ensure all machining matches approved hardware schedules and manufacturer requirements.
Ordering Materials
Responsible for ordering all project materials including:
- Hollow metal frames
- Hollow metal doors
- Wood doors
- Finish hardware
- Weatherstrip
- Thresholds
- Louvers
- Vision kits
- Glass
- Miscellaneous accessories
Responsibilities include:
- Reviewing approved submittals before ordering.
- Verifying quantities.
- Coordinating lead times.
- Confirming finish selections.
- Ordering replacement materials when necessary.
- Tracking purchase orders.
- Monitoring manufacturing schedules.
- Following up with vendors on production status.
Project Coordination
- Coordinate deliveries with jobsite schedules.
- Schedule phased deliveries when required.
- Track material shipments.
- Coordinate freight.
- Resolve shipping discrepancies.
- Coordinate warehouse receiving.
- Manage backorders.
- Communicate delivery updates to customers.
Document Management
Maintain organized project files including:
- Purchase Orders
- RFIs
- ASIs
- Change Orders
- Approved Submittals
- Shop Drawings
- Hardware Schedules
- Door Schedules
- Meeting Notes
- Delivery Tickets
- Manufacturer Correspondence
Plan & Specification Review
Review project documents including:
- Architectural plans
- Door schedules
- Frame schedules
- Hardware sets
- Specifications
- Elevations
- Floor plans
- Details
- Finish schedules
Identify discrepancies before ordering materials.
Change Orders
- Review revised drawings.
- Price changes.
- Issue revised purchase orders.
- Coordinate manufacturer revisions.
- Track owner-requested changes.
- Maintain accurate project budgets.
Quality Control
Ensure all products comply with:
- Approved submittals
- Project specifications
- Building codes
- Fire ratings
- ADA requirements
- Manufacturer standards
Review projects thoroughly before release to manufacturing.
Customer Service
Provide exceptional customer service by:
- Responding promptly to emails and phone calls.
- Keeping customers informed throughout each project.
- Resolving issues quickly.
- Building long-term relationships with contractors and architects.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in commercial doors, frames, and hardware (preferred)
- Experience in commercial construction project management
- Ability to read construction plans and specifications
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
- Experience with Comsense (preferred)
- Experience with Procore or Buildertrend (preferred)
- Knowledge of Division 08 products is highly preferred

Pay: $55,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
