Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Journeyman Electrician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems across various environments, including commercial, industrial, and renovation sites. Your expertise will ensure that electrical systems operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all relevant codes and standards. Duties
- Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, and equipment in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) standards.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and electrical diagrams to accurately execute projects.
- Use hand tools, power tools, multimeters such as ohmmeters, and other testing devices to diagnose issues and complete installations.
- Work on low voltage systems including security alarms, communication lines, and control wiring for programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
- Perform maintenance on industrial electrical systems and assist with upgrades or renovations of existing electrical infrastructure.
- Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and industry best practices; maintain a clean and safe work environment on construction sites.
- Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and other trades such as frame carpentry or handyman services to coordinate project timelines and requirements.
- Conduct routine inspections of electrical systems to identify potential hazards or failures before they occur.
- Maintain detailed records of work performed, materials used, and inspections completed for compliance purposes.
Experience
- Minimum 3 years on the job experience required.
- Electrical Certification Required.
- Proven experience as a Journeyman Electrician with a strong background in industrial and commercial electrical systems.
- Demonstrated ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams accurately.
- Hands-on experience working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and low/high voltage systems.
- Familiarity with NEC standards governing electrical installations and maintenance.
- Skilled in using hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wire strippers; power tools including drills; testing equipment like ohmmeters; and power saws for construction tasks.
- Prior construction site experience involving renovation projects or new builds is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of schematic interpretation for complex electrical circuits; ability to troubleshoot effectively using diagnostic tools.
- Experience working in environments requiring high safety standards—such as industrial plants or commercial facilities—while adhering to OSHA regulations.
- Additional handyman skills or frame carpentry experience are a plus for versatile project support. Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
