Job Summary:
As the Concrete Carpenter, you will learn and refine skill of squaring footings, walls, snapping lines, forming walls and slabs. Able to set string lines, forms and establish grade footing and walls based off a benchmark. Develop the abilities of other crew members, run small jobs, and deliver a high-quality product to our clients. Always have an awareness of safety for yourself and those around you. Foster your coworker relationships through respect and helpfulness and collaboratively making sure our standard of quality is delivered.
Position Responsibilities:
- Safety – Follow safety procedures to ensure safety of self and crew at all times. Use PPE while on the jobsite (i.e. hard hat, safety glasses, ear protection, high visibility vest, steel toe boots and gloves)
- Figure out grade and locate hold downs
- Lay out building
- Figure CY required for placement
- Set & straighten walls.
- Build footings
- Read plans and details
- Layout doors and blockouts
- Ability to think steps ahead and keep things running effectively
- Hauling Materials – moving materials to and from storage and the job site
- Stripping Footings – Removal and packing of the footing forms after concrete has set up sufficiently
- Tying Bar – Tying reinforcing bar for footings, walls, columns
- Whailing – Placing whalers on outside of wall to stiffen wall
- Setting Grade – Placing grade nails in form to establish elevation for top of wall during concrete placement
- Placing Bolts – Placement of anchor bolts in top of wall to accommodate framing
- Stripping – Removal of form panels after sufficient concrete curing
- Cleaning Site – Removal of tools and supplies, packing of truck, and general housekeeping of site
- Stocking Trucks/Trailers – Keeping trucks and trailers stocked and ready for deployment to job
- Professional Experience – Making the process a professional endeavor and generating a positive experience for the customer, others involved in the project and the team
Requirements:
- Valid Drivers License
- High school diploma or GED (preferred)
- Certification from a vocational school or completion of apprenticeship (preferred)
- 1 -3 years of experience in Concrete Carpentry (preferred)

Working Conditions:
- This position involves work at construction sites where duties will be performed both indoors and outdoors. Both cold and warm conditions will be experienced, including inclement weather.
- Overtime may be required to meet project deadlines.
- Hours are often 10 or more hours a day, 50 or more hours a week, as work demands. Work hours can be seasonal.
