LPC Services is seeking an experienced Commercial HVAC/R Service Technician to join our growing Austin team. This is an outstanding opportunity for a highly motivated technician with a strong background in commercial HVAC service, refrigeration, boilers, chillers, and building automation controls.
This is not an entry-level position. We are looking for professionals who can independently diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain complex commercial HVAC systems while delivering exceptional customer service.

Position Summary
The Commercial HVAC/R Service Technician is responsible for servicing, maintaining, diagnosing, repairing, and commissioning commercial HVAC and refrigeration equipment for a wide variety of customers throughout the Austin market.
This position requires a strong understanding of commercial mechanical systems, electrical diagnostics, refrigeration principles, combustion systems, and control strategies. Technicians should be capable of working independently while maintaining the highest standards of safety, workmanship, and professionalism.
Primary Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and maintain commercial HVAC and refrigeration equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance on commercial mechanical systems.
- Service rooftop units (RTUs), split systems, package units, VRF/VRV systems, make-up air units, exhaust systems, and dedicated outdoor air systems.
- Diagnose and repair commercial refrigeration equipment.
- Perform startup, maintenance, and repair of commercial boilers.
- Service and troubleshoot air-cooled and water-cooled chillers.
- Diagnose electrical, mechanical, refrigeration, airflow, and hydronic system issues.
- Perform controls troubleshooting, calibration, and programming support for building automation systems.
- Read and interpret wiring diagrams, ladder logic, piping schematics, blueprints, and sequence of operation documents.
- Test motors, compressors, contactors, relays, sensors, actuators, VFDs, and electrical control components.
- Perform refrigerant leak detection, evacuation, charging, and recovery in accordance with EPA regulations.
- Maintain detailed service documentation and complete work orders accurately.
- Communicate technical findings and repair recommendations professionally with customers.
- Respond to emergency service calls when scheduled.
- Follow all OSHA safety standards and company safety policies.
Required QualificationsMinimum Requirements
- 5+ years of commercial HVAC/R service experience
- Extensive experience working on commercial mechanical systems
- Valid EPA Universal Certification
- Valid Texas Driver's License with acceptable driving record
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to lift 75 pounds and work on ladders, rooftops, and mechanical rooms

Technicians with advanced experience in commercial chillers, boiler systems, refrigeration, or building automation controls may qualify for compensation at the upper end of the pay range.
