JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION TITLE: Concrete Finisher/Laborer
REPORTS TO: Concrete Foreman
PURPOSE OF POSITION: To perform finishing of concrete with a smooth finish and without voids in Barrier wall, flat work and curb and gutter. To set and finish headers and intersections. To perform other job site tasks such as grade work, tying steel, setting out and assembling key way and L-Bars, building finishing tools and header boards.
Accountabilities:
Arrive to work on time at the designated job site and able to understand directions from the Foreman.
Performs assigned duties as directed
Obtain necessary hand tools to perform daily work and returns all hand tools at the end of the day.
Checks over finishing tools to insure that all needed tools are present and in proper condition to perform finishing tasks.
Performs all finishing tasks using mechanized or hand finishing equipment in a safe manner while avoiding the string line with their tools and or body.
Assists in setting up paving equipment at the beginning and assists with teardown at the end of the day.
Keeps all concrete surface free of rock holes and other surface voids while maintaining a quality product
Assists with placing, strike off, and straight edge paving materials and hand work.
Follows all Safety policies and procedures and reports any unsafe conditions or accidents to the Foreman immediately
Checks with Foreman on any questions or problems on the job site.
Takes the initiative when assigned work is complete to assist with other tasks.
Necessary Skills and tools
- Demonstrate the will and initiative to work and to stay busy
- Able to utilize a straight edge
- Previous Finishing experience and Construction experience preferred
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $32.00 - $34.00 per hour
