Salary Range: $23.95-$33.53

Summary: Welds metal components together with MIG and TIG equipment to fabricate or repair products made from sheet metal both Stainless steel and mild steel.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Performs welding operations on a wide range of metals and thicknesses

Involves precision assemblies involving a considerable amount of welding to high strength

Regulates current and voltage from proper penetration and fusion of metals, selects electrode type and size.

Considerable skill required to fuse dissimilar metals, obtain maximum weld strength and avoid distortion.

Skilled with MIG and TIG welding equipment.

Can plan work from drawings or other specifications.

Reports materials, equipment or process problems to supervisor.

Perform any variety of operations within the department to maintain workflow.

Maintain equipment and work area in a clean and orderly condition.

Follow prescribed safety rules and regulations.

Perform other similar or related duties as required or directed.

Other duties may be assigned.

Required Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

Technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

The employee is frequently required to walk; sit, talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

Desired Qualifications:

Communication Skills:

The ideal candidate should have strong communication skills, particularly in English. While Spanish language skills are a plus, they are not mandatory for this position. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather); work near moving mechanical parts; work in high, precarious places and fumes or airborne particles.
