Lamp & Fixture Repair Technician

Overview
We are currently in the need for a technician to complete our lamp and fixture repairs, rewires, and basic installations. This position is either full-time or part-time with flexible hours that will keep you moving and learning. Some of the tasks included in this position include: the rewire and repair of lamps and lighting fixtures, replacing sockets and cords, restoring (polishing/cleaning) lighting fixtures, making alternations on products (shortening cord lengths), and other basic tasks. The position will also include basic installations, where replacing a currently installed chandelier, ceiling fan, or other lighting fixture with a newer one will occur. Previous occupations that might assist with this position include ‘handyman’, electrical helpers, maintenance technicians, and the like.

Requirements
- Ability to lift 75lb.
- Proper spoken & written English
- A valid driver’s license
- Two (2) years of previous experience is highly recommended
Compensation
This is a full-time or part-time position. Part-time requires twenty (20) hours a week, full-time requires forty (40) hours a week. The pay depends on experience, between $18-$22/hr. Part-time positions do not include benefits, but full-time positions do.

COMPANY POLICIES
All new employees are on a ninty (90) day probation period. During this time, the new employees are on a temporary employment status with Lighting & Bulbs Unlimited and are not applicable for any full-time benefits for their first ninety (90) days from the hire date. Part-time employees are not eligible for benefits. A meeting will be scheduled to review your progress and performance within the 90-days from your hire date. Based on your performance and progress at that point, you will then either be hired as a part-time or full-time employee, or be dismissed.
Late Policy. As of February 13, 2017, an employee is considered tardy (late) if they arrive six (6) minutes past the agreed start time. For example, if you start at 8:00am, you will be considered late if you arrive at or after 8:06am. The employee may be late up to eight (8) times in one calendar year (365 days) with no penalty. The 9th tardy will result in a reduction from full-time status to part-time (20 hours per week), wherein benefits and PTO benefits are forfeited. The 10th infraction will result in termination. The only excusable tardy will be due to a family emergency.
Personal Cell Phone Use. Taking personal calls, and/or texting during business hours are not permitted. A verbal warning will be given for the first offense. Thereafter, written warnings will be issues which may lead to termination.
Internet & Computer Use. Using the internet for personal use during business hours is not permitted. The computer systems and Internet abilities are solely for business purposes, only.
