Schedule: Seasonal, typically April/May through October/November

The Position
Renew Landscaping is looking for an experienced Landscape & Hardscape Foreman / Project Lead who can take ownership of residential landscape construction projects from start to finish.
This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who understands how high-quality landscape and hardscape projects should be built, can lead a crew effectively, operates equipment confidently, solves problems in the field, and takes pride in delivering a finished project that meets a high standard.
You will be trusted with a company truck, trailer, equipment, crew, materials, and active projects. We are looking for someone who can take a project scope, understand the plan, keep the crew moving, communicate clearly, and manage the field side of the project without needing constant supervision.
Our foremen lead from the front. You will work alongside the crew, set the pace, and take responsibility for quality, productivity, customer expectations, jobsite organization, and project execution.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
- Lead and work alongside a landscape construction crew throughout each project.
- Review project scopes, plans, measurements, elevations, materials, and installation requirements.
- Organize the daily workflow and keep crew members productive throughout the day.
- Operate skid steers, mini skid steers, compactors, excavators, and other landscape construction equipment safely and efficiently.
- Complete excavation, grading, base preparation, material placement, and final grading.
- Lead the construction of segmental retaining walls, including excavation, compacted base preparation, block installation, drainage, geogrid, backfill, caps, and final grading.
- Lead installation of paver patios, walkways, driveways, steps, and other hardscape projects from excavation through final compaction and polymeric sand.
- Install natural stone steps, fieldstone boulders, landscape edging, and other natural stone features.
- Complete drainage projects including French drains, catch basins, drain tile, popup emitters, downspout drainage, swales, and grading improvements.
- Oversee and participate in installation of black dirt, sod, seed, landscape fabric, decorative rock, mulch, trees, shrubs, and plant material.
- Establish proper elevations, drainage, slopes, and finished grades.
- Coordinate materials and communicate upcoming material or equipment needs before they affect production.
- Monitor material usage and help reduce unnecessary waste.
- Maintain clean, organized, and professional job sites.
- Maintain company tools and equipment and communicate maintenance issues promptly.
- Safely operate an assigned company truck and trailer, including loading, securing, transporting, and unloading equipment and materials.
- Communicate professionally with homeowners throughout construction.
- Keep management informed of project progress, unforeseen conditions, customer requests, and potential change orders.
- Identify problems early and help develop practical solutions before they affect the schedule or budget.
- Maintain Renew Landscaping’s workmanship and quality standards throughout every phase of construction.
- Complete project walkthroughs and ensure punch-list items are addressed before completion.

The ideal candidate can be handed a truck, trailer, crew, project scope, and materials and be trusted to successfully run the field portion of the project.
Required Experience
- At least 2–5+ years of professional landscape or hardscape construction experience preferred.
- Previous experience leading or supervising an installation crew.
- Strong experience constructing segmental retaining walls.
- Strong experience installing paver patios, walkways, steps, and related hardscape systems.
- Excellent skid steer and mini skid steer operating ability.
- Strong understanding of excavation, elevations, grading, compaction, drainage, and base preparation.
- Ability to accurately use laser levels, string lines, tape measures, and other layout tools.
- Ability to understand project plans, measurements, material quantities, and installation specifications.
- Experience with natural stone installation is highly preferred.
- Experience with drainage systems is highly preferred.
- Ability to troubleshoot unexpected field conditions without requiring constant supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship.
- Ability to perform physically demanding landscape construction work throughout the season.
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
- Experience towing trailers and properly securing equipment and materials.
- CDL or additional equipment experience is a plus.

Compensation
Pay is based heavily on your ability to independently lead projects and the value you bring to the company.
Someone entering the position with solid landscape experience and developing foreman skills may fall toward the lower end of the range.
Experienced foremen who can independently manage crews, operate equipment, read elevations, build walls and patios correctly, manage materials, communicate with customers, and consistently complete profitable, high-quality projects will be compensated toward the higher end.
The $55.00–$65.00 per hour range is intended for exceptional senior-level candidates who can take complete ownership of the field side of a project and consistently deliver at a very high level.
