Duties
- Lead installation and commissioning of fire alarm systems, including proprietary control panels, sensors, and sprinkler system integration
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, electrical blueprints, and CAD drawings to accurately execute system design plans
- Conduct thorough construction inspections to verify compliance with building codes, NFPA standards, fire codes, and safety regulations
- Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on fire alarm systems using engineering troubleshooting techniques and electrical experience
- Supervise field service activities; coordinate with contractors and clients to ensure timely project completion
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, voltmeters, and other testing equipment to diagnose system issues efficiently
- Provide exceptional customer service by explaining system functions, conducting training sessions, and supporting sales efforts for fire alarm systems and accessories
Requirements
- Proven experience in fire alarm system installation, maintenance, or service technician roles with a strong understanding of proprietary control panels
- Ability to read electrical schematics, blueprints (including CAD files), schematics, and construction documents accurately
- Mechanical knowledge related to sprinkler fitting and low voltage electrical work required for comprehensive system integration
- Familiarity with NFPA standards (National Fire Protection Association), NEC (National Electrical Code), fire codes, and building regulations governing fire safety systems
- Skilled in engineering troubleshooting techniques for complex alarm system issues using multimeters and diagnostic tools
- Construction experience or inspection background preferred; ability to oversee projects from initial design through final inspection
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients and team members
- Valid electrical experience with knowledge of sensors, alarms systems sales processes related to fire alarms or fire sprinkler fitting is a plus
- Ability to work independently or lead a team in fast-paced environments while adhering to safety protocols
