Job Overview:
Rabbit Run Builders is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Lead Carpenter / Project Manger to work with and manage a small team of builders. This position offers an opportunity to lead diverse projects within a dynamic construction environment. The successful candidate will demonstrate technical proficiency, skills in collaboration, and a commitment to quality craftsmanship at every stage of the project lifecycle. You need strong leadership skills and a comprehensive background in various aspects of construction, carpentry, and remodeling in the context of high performance building. This role involves managing teams, ensuring safety standards, and delivering high-quality craftsmanship on diverse projects, including custom homes, additions and remodels. It is an active role in the field, building with the team daily.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build with and supervise construction crews on-site, ensuring project timelines and quality standards are met.
- Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to guide project execution.
- Oversee the installation of framing, window and door install, air sealing, exterior trim, siding, interior trim, built-ins and other structural or finishing components.
- Utilize all common hand and power tools, as well as fabrication techniques, to complete tasks efficiently.
- Manage heavy lifting operations and coordinate material handling to ensure safety and efficiency.
- Assist with on-site management of excavation, concrete, plumbing, electrical, heating/cooling, ERV installation, and other specialized trades as needed.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards across all phases of work.
- Collaborate with the owner and project managers to review plans and modify approaches as necessary.
- Train and mentor apprentices and less experienced team members in technical skills, proper tool usage, carpentry techniques and more.
Key Skills:
- 8+ years of professional carpentry experience.
- Proven experience in construction site management and high performance building.
- Extensive knowledge of construction estimating methods and ability to read blueprints and schematics accurately.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, scaffolding systems, fall protection, high performance building techniques and details.
- Strong background in framing and trim carpentry.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously if required.
- Strong communication skills for coordinating with clients and team members.
- A good attitude is a must
- Consistency, presence, and reliability for the team on a daily basis
Compensation:
- Competitive hourly wages ($35-48/hr depending on experience).
