EXPERIENCED IN-HOUSE APPLIANCE REPAIR TECHNICIAN
Shop-based | No daily service route
Tired of spending your day driving from house to house?
We're looking for an experienced Appliance Repair Technician to join our team as an in-house Shop Technician at our Norton, MA facility.
This is a shop-based position where you'll spend your day diagnosing, repairing, preparing, and testing residential appliances. No regular residential service route and no spending your day driving between customer homes.
You'll work on a wide variety of major residential appliances and brands. We sell and service multiple brands, including many high-end brands, so we're looking for a technician with broad appliance knowledge who enjoys working on different equipment.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Prepare Appliances for Delivery
Before appliances are delivered to customers, you'll make sure they're properly configured, prepared, and tested. This may include:
- Perform refrigerator, freezer, washer, dryer, and other appliance door reversals
- Complete dryer side-vent conversions and range power-cord installations
- Perform approved gas conversions
- Install manufacturer-approved accessories and components
- Configure, adjust, and test appliances before delivery
- Identify potential problems before an appliance reaches the customer's home
Diagnose & Repair Appliances
You'll also work on returned, floor-model, and Outlet appliances, including:
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, refrigeration, gas, and other appliance systems
- Repair appliances and replace defective components
- Work on returned, floor-model, and Outlet appliances
- Test appliances after repairs
- Determine whether an appliance is repairable and suitable for resale
- Prepare repaired appliances for the Outlet
- Document repairs and appliance condition
The goal is simple: catch technical and preparation issues in the shop, not in the customer's home.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
This is an experienced technician position. We're looking for someone who already knows appliances and can work independently.
Required:
- 5+ years of residential appliance repair experience
- Experience diagnosing and repairing a broad range of residential appliances
- Experience working across multiple major appliance brands
- Experience with refrigerators, ranges, cooktops, wall ovens, dishwashers, washers, and dryers
- Experience with gas appliances and gas conversions
- Experience performing appliance door reversals and other manufacturer-approved modifications
We're not looking for someone whose experience is limited to one brand or one type of appliance. Our business involves multiple appliance brands, many of them high-end, so broad appliance knowledge is important.
WHAT MAKES THIS JOB DIFFERENT?
If you've spent years working as a field service technician, you already know what that lifestyle looks like: driving between calls, dealing with traffic, working in customer homes, and constantly watching the clock.
This position gives an experienced technician the opportunity to stay hands-on with appliances without spending the majority of the day on the road.
- A consistent Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM schedule
- A shop based in Norton, MA
- No regular residential service route
- A professional shop environment
Occasionally, there may be a need to assist with an emergency service call or other field-related need, which is why a valid driver's license is required. However, this is not a traditional residential service technician position.
