Century Fire Protection is seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Inspector to join our Augusta team. In this field-based role, you’ll inspect and test essential life-safety systems, identify deficiencies, and help ensure our customers’ fire alarm systems remain reliable and code-compliant.

What You’ll Do
- Inspect, test, and maintain fire alarm systems and related components in accordance with NFPA standards, local codes, and manufacturer requirements.
- Conduct functional and visual testing of fire alarm panels, initiating devices, notification appliances, audible devices, and strobes.
- Verify the proper operation of control panels, detectors, pull stations, and notification circuits.
- Identify system deficiencies and clearly communicate repair needs to customers and service teams.
- Accurately document inspection results, deficiencies, and recommendations using company reporting systems.
- Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
- Ensure all inspection and testing work meets applicable safety and quality standards.
- Maintain tools, testing equipment, and the company vehicle in clean and safe working condition.
What You Bring
- High school diploma or GED.
- 2–4 years of related fire alarm inspection, testing, or maintenance experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Working knowledge of fire alarm systems, testing procedures, and applicable fire codes.
- Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical documents.
- Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Ability to work independently while providing professional customer service.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- NICET Level II or III preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to safely operate a motor vehicle.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, climb, and reach for extended periods.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work at heights using ladders, scaffolding, or lifts.
- Ability to work in confined spaces and environments with varying temperatures and conditions.
- Manual dexterity to operate hand tools, testing instruments, and small components.
- Ability to read diagrams, labels, and test results and distinguish color-coded wiring.
- Ability to hear alarm signals and communicate effectively in noisy environments.
- Ability to work around flashing or strobe lights during system testing.
