You get the diagnosis right. We want you on our team.
You can find the real problem, fix it properly, and explain it so the homeowner understands. If that sounds like you, keep reading.
We're hiring an experienced Residential HVAC Service Technician to service homes across Washington, D.C., from century-old rowhouses with boilers and radiators to modern condos with heat pumps and ductless systems. This role is for a licensed technician who runs calls independently, troubleshoots beyond the obvious, and helps customers make informed decisions about their equipment.
If you take pride in clean work, accurate diagnosis, and earning a homeowner's trust, we want to hear from you.
What you'll do
- Diagnose and repair residential heating and air conditioning systems, including heat pumps, furnaces, ductless mini-splits, and hydronic/boiler systems common in D.C. homes.
- Troubleshoot electrical, refrigerant, and airflow problems, including ductwork and ventilation issues.
- Perform preventive maintenance and tune-ups, and spot developing problems before they turn into breakdowns.
- Install, replace, and upgrade components and equipment as needed, and complete warranty service work.
- Make sure all work meets D.C. code, national code, and manufacturer requirements.
- Explain your findings, pricing, and repair options clearly and honestly.
- Recommend the right next step — repair, maintenance agreement, or replacement — based on the equipment's condition and the homeowner's needs.
- Document every call accurately on your company tablet and keep dispatch and the installation team in the loop.
- Keep your service vehicle stocked, organized, and ready to go.
- Follow safe work practices and leave every home as clean as you found it.

- Good judgment about when to repair and when to discuss replacement.
- Strong attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple calls in a day, and pride in your workmanship.
- Valid driver's license and a driving record that meets company vehicle requirements.
Nice to have
- Experience with ServiceTitan or similar field-service software.
- Experience with older D.C. housing stock: steam and hot-water boilers, tight mechanical spaces, and retrofit ductless systems.
- A track record of explaining recommendations in a way that helps customers move forward with the right work.
