Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced HVAC Lead Technician to oversee and execute complex heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems within commercial and residential settings. As a vital team leader, you will coordinate installation, maintenance, and repair projects, ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety, and customer satisfaction. Duties
- Lead and supervise HVAC installation, repair, and maintenance projects, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and industry standards
- Diagnose and troubleshoot HVAC system issues using schematics, electrical diagnostics, ohmmeters, and other specialized tools
- Perform HVAC system repairs including refrigeration, air conditioning units, boilers, mechanical systems, plumbing connections, and building automation systems
- Interpret technical schematics and HVAC design plans to execute precise system setups or modifications
- Conduct electrical diagnostics on electrical systems associated with HVAC equipment to identify faults and implement effective solutions
- Oversee equipment troubleshooting and repair activities to minimize downtime and optimize system performance
- Ensure all work complies with EPA regulations for refrigerants and environmental standards while maintaining documentation for regulatory compliance
Skills
- Extensive construction experience with knowledge of mechanical systems repair and HVAC system installation
- Proven service technician experience with hands-on skills in HVAC/R (refrigeration), electrical diagnostics, plumbing, and boiler systems
- Strong understanding of schematics, HVAC design principles, building automation systems, electrical systems, and mechanical knowledge
- Proficiency with hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, multimeters, ohmmeters, and specialized diagnostic equipment
- Ability to troubleshoot complex equipment issues efficiently using diagnostic procedures and technical manuals
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients and team members
- Valid EPA certification for refrigerant handling; valid driver’s license for van driving responsibilities
- Knowledge of HVAC system maintenance practices including preventive maintenance routines for mechanical systems
