Lead Installer
Cates Heating & Cooling | Lenexa, KS$85,000 to $115,000 per year, based on experience
You'll run residential installs from start to finish.
Day to day that looks like:
- Setting furnaces, air handlers, coils, condensers, and heat pumps
- Ductwork modifications, line sets, condensate, gas, and electrical connections
- Startup, charging, and commissioning the system before you leave
- Running a helper or apprentice on the job and keeping them productive
- Walking the homeowner through their new system at completion and making sure they're happy before you pull out of the driveway
- Photos, paperwork, and job close-out done the same day, not Friday afternoon
What you need to have
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on residential HVAC installation experience
- EPA 608 certification
- Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and the ability to pass a background check. You'll be in a company vehicle with our name on it, so this one isn't negotiable
- Comfortable in attics, crawlspaces, and tight mechanical closets
- Able to read a submittal or load calc, follow the plan, and speak up when something on site doesn't match what was sold
Brazing, sheet metal fabrication, and zoning experience are all a plus. So is any experience training a helper.
