Job Summary

Join our team as a Welder/Fabricator and turn technical drawings into reliable, finished components. You’ll weld, cut, shape, and assemble metal materials for fabrication projects in a shop or construction-site setting. Your impact: Accurate fabrication and safe assembly help project teams receive components that fit their specifications and are ready for use.

Duties

Read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings, including mechanical blueprints, to plan fabrication and assembly.
Perform metal fabrication and mechanical fabrication using metal materials, sheet metal, and ductwork; complete pipe threading and soldering as needed.
Weld using gas metal arc welding (GMAW, also called MIG), flux-cored arc welding (FCAW), shielded metal arc welding (SMAW, also called stick welding), and tungsten inert gas (TIG) methods.
Cut, shape, machine, and finish parts with hand and power tools, plasma cutters, and press brake machines; use cranes, forklifts, and rigging equipment as assigned.
Measure and inspect work with calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments; apply shop math and follow safety protocols, American Welding Society (AWS) standards, and applicable ASME codes and standards.

Qualifications

Demonstrated welding and fabrication ability; fabrication shop or construction-site experience is helpful.
Ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, and mechanical drawings and apply basic math and mechanical knowledge.
Familiarity with sheet metal fabrication, machining, assembly, and common metal materials.
Experience with MIG, FCAW, stick/SMAW, TIG, plasma cutting, pipe threading, or soldering is preferred.
Ability to use measuring instruments, hand and power tools, and material-handling equipment safely; knowledge of AWS standards and ASME codes is an asset.
