LEAD HVAC INSTALLER
Canaan, NH

Four 10-hour days, Mondays off, and a company that runs a tight schedule so you're not stuck waiting on other trades. Our client is a growing residential HVAC company that installs everything to manufacturer spec, pays well for quality work, and wants a lead who'll help build the business. For the right person, there's real room to grow into leadership and even a long-term ownership conversation.

THE BASICS
Location: Canaan, NH
Pay: $45–$55/hr depending on experience, plus a $10/hr weekly team quality bonus. That's the floor, not the ceiling, and pay is significantly higher for a licensed or license-eligible master electrician.
Service Area: [Not provided]
Schedule: Tuesday–Friday, 7:00 AM–5:00 PM (10-hour days, 30-minute paid lunch), with overtime paid when jobs run late
On-Call: None for this role
Reports To: Owner

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Lead residential retrofit installs, including heat pumps, mini-splits, central AC, furnaces, boilers and hydronic systems, gas piping, and water heaters
Run a two-person install crew, including finishing the training of a junior installer
Cross-train across every crew role. There's always work to be done, and everyone pitches in.
Complete jobs that typically run one to four days, depending on size and complexity
Install every system to manufacturer recommendations, with no shortcuts
Use your knowledge of building construction to find the smartest routes through walls, voids, and dead spaces
Take on occasional light commercial work and new construction during the winter months
Suggest better ways of doing things, and follow established standards once they're set
Help with service and repair on equipment the team has installed, as needed

WHY LEAD INSTALLERS LIKE WORKING HERE

Three-day weekends every week. The Tuesday–Friday schedule also avoids most holiday disruptions.
Straight 7–5 days with a paid lunch and reasonable breaks. You're treated like an adult and not micromanaged.
A $10/hr weekly team bonus when the week's work needs no callbacks or rework. The whole crew earns it together, so there's no finger-pointing.
Flexible, negotiable compensation: take the value of benefits as higher pay, or build a more traditional package if that fits you better
A health insurance buyout if you're covered under a spouse's plan
100% company-paid short-term disability and supplemental accident and illness coverage
Your home heating fuel (propane or gas) covered
Flexible time off with notice, taken unpaid or paid through your hourly rate
Trucks fully outfitted with $20K–$30K in tools, and a starter tool bag provided if you need one
Company apparel plus an annual allowance for boots and work pants
EPA 608 certification paid for
An in-house gas licensing track: your apprentice card, then a license in 6 months, a second in 12 months, and the final in 2 years, with a pay bump when you're licensed
Support toward a plumbing license, with licensed staff to sign off on your hours
A clear path to grow into leadership, with a potential ownership conversation over the next 5–10 years for the right person
