Alpha Sheet Metal Works is seeking an experienced Quality Manager to lead the implementation and ongoing management of our AS9100 Quality Management System (QMS) while overseeing all quality and inspection activities supporting aerospace tooling fabrication.

This role is responsible for managing the current quality program during the AS9100 implementation phase, building and leading a quality team, and serving as the primary interface for customer, registrar, and regulatory audits.

What You’ll Do

Lead the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the AS9100 Rev D Quality Management System (QMS)
Manage QMS documentation, internal audits, and management reviews to ensure compliance with AS9100 requirements
Provide guidance and training to support effective QMS adoption across production and quality teams
Oversee inspection activities including First Article Inspections (FAI), in-process inspections, and final inspections
Ensure proper application of GD&T and the use of precision metrology equipment including CMMs, Laser Trackers, and Faro Arms
Maintain inspection plans, acceptance criteria, and quality records to support traceability and audit readiness
Lead investigations into nonconformances and customer quality issues using structured root cause analysis methods such as 8D or 5-Why
Implement and verify effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
Monitor quality performance metrics and drive continuous improvement initiatives
Lead and develop the Quality team, including inspectors and quality personnel
Partner with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to improve quality performance and manufacturing outcomes
Serve as the primary interface for customer, supplier, and regulatory quality audits

What We’re Looking For

Required:

7+ years of quality engineering or quality management experience within an aerospace manufacturing environment
Demonstrated experience serving as the Management Representative responsible for external ISO certification audits with an accredited registrar or certification body
Strong working knowledge of AS9100 requirements and aerospace quality standards
Experience leading and developing quality teams, including inspectors and quality personnel
Expertise in GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) per ASME Y14.5
Proficiency with precision metrology equipment and inspection software, including CMMs, Laser Trackers, and Faro Arms

Preferred:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field
ASQ Certified Quality Manager (CQM) or Lead Auditor certification
Experience implementing or managing an ISO 9001 Quality Management System
Experience implementing or maintaining an AS9100 Quality Management System

Work Schedule & Environment

Standard schedule: Monday – Thursday, 6:30 AM – 4:00 PM; Friday schedule: 6:30 AM – 10:30 AM
Manufacturing and fabrication shop floor environment with exposure to machining, welding, and assembly operations
Combination of shop-floor presence and office-based work
Frequent use of computers, quality management systems, inspection software, and precision metrology equipment
Work requires sustained attention to detail, accuracy, and documentation integrity when managing quality records, inspection data, and regulatory documentation
