Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Technician for the 2nd shift to join our food manufacturing facility. This role is essential in ensuring the continuous operation and optimal performance of our production equipment and facility infrastructure. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in industrial maintenance, electrical and mechanical systems, and troubleshooting complex machinery. They will play a critical role in maintaining safety standards, minimizing downtime, and supporting operational efficiency through proactive maintenance and technical expertise.

Key responsibilities include performing routine inspections, diagnosing equipment issues, executing repairs using advanced tools such as precision measuring instruments, welding, and hydraulic systems, and maintaining detailed records of maintenance activities. The Maintenance Technician will also collaborate with field service teams and contribute to the ongoing improvement of maintenance procedures.

Hour: 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Monday-Friday - some overtime required.

Responsibilities

Conduct preventative maintenance on manufacturing equipment, including hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical systems to ensure optimal operation.
Troubleshoot complex machinery issues using schematics, technical manuals, and analysis skills; perform repairs efficiently to minimize production downtime.
Operate and maintain programmable logic controllers (PLCs), industrial electricians’ tools such as ammeters and ohmmeters, and other diagnostic instruments.
Perform welding tasks with expertise in welding techniques to repair or fabricate parts as needed.
Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities within the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for tracking work orders, parts inventory, and equipment history.
Assist with electrical work involving high voltage and low voltage systems while adhering to safety protocols.
Use precision measuring instruments to ensure machinery alignment and calibration meet quality standards.
Support HVAC/R systems maintenance, including troubleshooting HVAC units or refrigeration components critical to facility operations.
Operate field service equipment such as scissor lifts safely for elevated work tasks.
Read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and system diagrams to facilitate effective repairs.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations related to industrial mechanics, electrical systems, and high-voltage environments.
Collaborate with team members across departments to improve maintenance procedures and operational reliability.

Experience

Proven industrial mechanic experience within a manufacturing facility environment.
Extensive knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical circuits (including high voltage), and HVAC/R systems.
Hands-on experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and industrial electrician practices.
Familiarity with CMMS software for maintenance planning and recordkeeping.
Skilled in welding techniques specific to welding processes.
Ability to read schematics, technical manuals, and system diagrams accurately.
Experience working with precision measuring instruments such as micrometers or calipers.
Strong analysis skills for diagnosing equipment failures quickly and effectively.
Customer service orientation with excellent communication skills in English.
Background in field service operations within manufacturing or industrial settings.
Military experience or training related to industrial maintenance or electrical systems is considered an asset.
