Position Summary:

The Lead Carpenter is responsible for delivering exceptional craftsmanship and seamless client experiences on high-end remodeling projects. This role oversees field production, directs carpentry teams, and ensures every detail aligns with luxury standards and design intent. We are looking for a leader who values communication over assumptions, planning over reacting, and teamwork over ego. Projects often involve occupied homes, intricate finishes, and custom-built elements that require advanced problem-solving and a polished professional presence.

Reports To: Director of Construction

Primary Responsibilities:

Project & Crew Leadership

- Supervise carpenters and apprentices on premium residential remodeling and new construction projects

- Plan daily/weekly tasks to maintain project timeline and exceptional quality

- Communicate design intent clearly to crews and subcontractors

- Mentor developing carpenters in fine craftsmanship and professional conduct

High-Level Carpentry Craftsmanship

- Perform advanced rough and finish carpentry, including:

* Custom built-ins, millwork, and architectural details

* Precision window/door installation

* Complex structural modifications in existing homes

- Execute layouts, templates, scribing, and specialty material installs with superior detail

- Coordinate with designers to achieve exact fit and finish

Occupied Home Excellence

- Maintain a respectful and clean work environment inside client homes

- Protect existing finishes and furnishings with advanced containment systems

- Communicate courteously with homeowners when present on site

Quality Control & Problem Solving

- Proactively identify field issues and propose creative, cost-effective solutions

- Perform quality checks on all work before inspections or designer walk-throughs

- Maintain precise measurements and documentation for custom fabrication

- Lay out architectural elements and ensure that the details work together

- Provide insight on best practices and materials throughout all aspects of carpentry

Communication & Coordination

- Collaborate with Construction Managers on scheduling, materials, and change orders

- Coordinate specialty trades to ensure seamless integration of finishes

- Provide daily status updates and anticipate needs to avoid delays

- Coordinate tools and equipment for all aspects of carpentry work

Safety & Professionalism

- Uphold company safety policies, OSHA standards, and building codes

- Model professionalism and ethical conduct at all times

Qualifications:

- 7+ years carpentry experience; 3+ years in a leadership role on luxury remodels preferred

- Expert knowledge of framing, finish carpentry, and residential building systems

- Skilled in reading high-detail drawings, interior design plans, and cabinetry shop drawings

- Proven ability to deliver exceptional craftsmanship in occupied spaces

- Strong communication, organization, and client interaction skills

- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation capable of transporting tools, equipment, or materials as needed for carpentry work

- Experience with smart-home integration or specialty materials is a plus

Physical Requirements:

- Ability to lift up to 80 lbs +

- Ability to work on ladders, tight spaces, and variable jobsite environments

Pay: $35.00 - $50.00 per hour
