Duties

Operate and monitor heat treating equipment such as furnaces, ovens, and quench tanks to achieve specified material properties.
Set up, calibrate, and troubleshoot heat treatment machinery including CNC-controlled systems for precise temperature control.
Read and interpret detailed blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) specifications to ensure accurate processing.
Perform routine inspections of heat-treated parts using precision measuring instruments like micrometers, calipers, and other quality inspection tools.
Maintain safety standards by following proper procedures for handling hazardous materials and operating heavy machinery such as cranes and forklifts.
Document process parameters, batch records, and quality data accurately for traceability and compliance purposes.
Assist with fabrication tasks including sheet metal work, welding, plasma cutting, CNC laser cutting, CNC milling, turning operations on CNC lathes, and tooling adjustments as needed.

Experience

Proven experience operating heat treatment equipment in a manufacturing or metalworking environment.
Strong mechanical knowledge with familiarity in machining processes such as CNC programming, CNC laser cutting, plasma cutting, and electrical discharge machining (EDM).
Skilled in blueprint reading and interpreting technical drawings to ensure precise fabrication and assembly.
Competent with various hand tools, fabrication techniques, and tooling setups for sheet metal work.
Ability to use precision measurement instruments including micrometers, calipers, and other gauges for quality inspection.
Knowledge of safety protocols related to welding, crane operation, forklift handling, and hazardous materials management.
Basic math skills necessary for calculating temperatures, dimensions, tolerances, and process adjustments.
