HVAC service technicians perform a variety of tasks, including:

Installation and maintenance: Install, maintain, and repair HVAC systems, including air conditioning, refrigeration, and ventilation
Troubleshooting: Diagnose and troubleshoot system malfunctions, including electrical and mechanical faults
Repairs: Repair or replace parts like compressors, pumps, valves, and motors
Refrigerant: Recycle and charge refrigerants, and ensure the refrigerant cycle is functioning correctly
Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks, and establish a preventive maintenance schedule
Compliance: Ensure compliance with appliance standards and OSHA
Record keeping: Maintain accurate records
Customer service: Explain maintenance procedures to customers
Emergency repairs: Perform emergency repairs promptly and efficiently
