Job Overview
Oster Pewter is a sheet metal fabricator specializing in producing lead-free pewter sheet metal. We have 3 main stations: casting, rolling, and stamping. We are looking to add someone who is mechanically inclined, industrious, and reliable. Specific experience is not required as long as basic safety, organizational standards, and shop etiquette are understood. We need someone who is able to be cross trained in all three areas. Basic computer literacy is helpful.

Casting Operation

We have 4 casting pots, with our main one holding about 2,500-3,000lbs and casting about 30-40 slabs/day, 2-3x/wk into water-cooled molds. We have a vacuum lift to help with the heavy slabs, and a forklift for loading the pot.

Rolling Operation

Our rolling mills are all two-highs with manual crank adjustments on top. Operators need to learn to set the mills properly, feed, and catch. This job also includes learning to plan out rolling operations to produce material of the desired dimensions and thickness. We roll slabs not coils, so each piece is fed through the mill by hand and caught on the other side.

Both of these are physical jobs that suit someone who is careful, methodical, and competent with basic arithmetic. This is a small shop of 3-4 people. We have a good team composition and prioritize people who will fit in and work well as a unit with the others on the floor.

Hours are 5AM - 1PM, Monday thru Friday

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $27.00 per hour
