HVAC Alliance Expert is currently looking for experienced and self-motivated Licensed Electricians (C-10) to add to its team of professionals in San Diego County!

This role supports the SDG&E® Small Business Saver Program, an initiative designed to help eligible micro- and small-business customers located in Disadvantaged Communities (DAC) or meeting Hard-To-Reach (HTR) criteria. The program includes site-specific energy assessments, customer education, and installation of no-cost energy-saving upgrades that deliver immediate utility bill savings.

This is a performance-driven independent contractor opportunity with strong income upside for electricians who can manage both field execution and on-site customer communication.

There are a few requirements:

Must hold an active California C-10 Electrical Contractor License
Must carry required insurance (general liability)
Must have own tools and work vehicle
Must be comfortable conducting site visits, quoting, and closing work with business owners
Must be able to work independently, stay organized, and submit documentation same day
Must maintain a professional appearance and strong communication
Experience with commercial retrofit / energy-efficiency installs is strongly preferred

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Site Visits & Assessments

Conduct on-site inspections and energy assessments for small commercial businesses
Verify site conditions (fixture counts, devices, ceiling type, installation requirements)
Take required pre-install photos and collect necessary details for compliance

Eligibility Verification (MANDATORY)

Before proposing any project, electrician must confirm the customer:

Has an active SDG&E commercial account
Pays the Public Goods Charge (PPP surcharge)
Has peak demand of 20 kW or less
Is not a past or current participant in SDG&E’s Market Access Program
Operates within a DAC OR qualifies as HTR

✅ No project may proceed without confirmed eligibility.

Proposal & Close

Present upgrade recommendations and explain customer savings opportunity
Explain the program/rebate structure and process clearly
Secure signed customer approval prior to installation

Installation (Approved Measures Only)

Install only SDG&E-approved measures listed in the eligible measures database, including:

LED lamps
LED tubes (Type A)
Recessed downlight LED retrofit kits
LED troffer retrofit kits
Occupancy-sensing switches
Smart thermostats
Bluetooth smart power strips
Room air purifiers
Door gaskets for refrigerated cases
Low-flow pre-rinse spray valves
Hot water pipe insulation
Vending machine smart timers

All installs must meet electrical code requirements and maintain clean, professional workmanship.

Compliance & Documentation Submission (Non-Negotiable)

Same-day submission required for:

Before photos
After photos
Fixture labels
Installed model numbers
Quantity confirmation
Any change orders (documented and approved prior to execution)

Incomplete documentation may delay payment and commissions.

Compensation:

No base salary — commission only.

12% base commission on approved and completed projects
15% commission if weekly/monthly targets are exceeded
20% commission for $200,000+ monthly project volume

(15% and 20% tiers include Fast Install and Milestone bonuses.)

Example:
$200,000 in monthly project volume
→ 20% commission
→ $40,000 earnings

Approved documentation
Compliance verification

Performance Expectations:

Ideal monthly target: $200,000+ in project volume

Electricians are expected to:

Maintain a consistent pipeline of site visits
Conduct multiple weekly assessments
Schedule and complete installs efficiently
Maintain professional customer interactions

This role is designed for high-output electricians seeking scalable income.

Growth Path:

High performers capable of sustaining $200K+ monthly volume may consistently earn $30,000–$40,000+ per month.
