Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Metal Fabricator/Shop Manager to lead our fabrication team and oversee daily shop operations. This role combines hands-on metalworking expertise with strong leadership skills to ensure high-quality production, safety compliance, and efficient workflow. Duties

Lead and supervise the shop floor, ensuring all fabrication activities meet quality standards and safety regulations
Read and interpret detailed blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings for various metal projects
Operate and maintain fabrication equipment
Perform welding using MIG, TIG, FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), welding, and soldering techniques on sheet metal, ductwork, pipes,
Use hand tools, power tools, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring devices to ensure precise fabrication and assembly
Manage inventory of raw materials including sheet metal, pipe threading supplies, and other fabrication components
Coordinate with construction teams for site visits involving rigging, crane operation, scaffolding setup, and construction site experience requirements
Oversee quality control processes by inspecting finished products using schematics and mechanical knowledge
Implement safety protocols related to welding, machining, rigging, forklift operation, and general shop practices
Schedule production workflows efficiently to meet project deadlines while maintaining high standards of craftsmanship

Experience

Proven experience in construction site environments or manufacturing facilities involving metal fabrication
Skilled in MIG welding, TIG welding, FCAW processes; proficiency in welding preferred
Hands-on experience with blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and technical drawings
Familiarity with shop machinery such as press brakes, plasma cutters, machining centers and pipe threading equipment
Knowledge of ASME codes & standards applicable to structural steel or pressure vessels is highly desirable
Ability to operate forklifts safely along with basic rigging skills for lifting heavy materials or equipment
Strong mechanical aptitude combined with basic math skills necessary for precise measurements and calculations
Experience managing a team or supervising shop operations in a fast-paced environment is a plus
