Overview
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Commercial Roofing Sheet Metal Mechanic to join our dynamic construction team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining metal roofing systems and sheet metal components on commercial buildings. Your expertise will ensure that roofing projects are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards of quality. Responsibilities

Measure, cut, shape, and install sheet metal materials for commercial roofing applications using hand tools and power tools.
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately execute roofing designs.
Fabricate custom metal components on-site or in the shop to meet project specifications.
Install flashing, gutters, vents, and other roofing accessories with precision and attention to detail.
Perform heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks necessary for the installation process while maintaining safety protocols.
Conduct inspections of completed work to ensure quality standards are met and address any issues promptly.
Collaborate with project managers, estimators, and other trades such as carpentry, masonry, plumbing, and welding to coordinate project timelines and requirements.

Requirements

Proven experience in construction estimating, blueprint reading, metal fabrication, and sheet metal installation within commercial roofing projects.
Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, scaffolding, and heavy equipment used in roofing and construction sites.
Strong knowledge of roofing systems including metal roofing materials, flashing techniques, caulking, trim carpentry, stucco application, and restoration processes.
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work at heights on rooftops or scaffolding for extended periods.
Familiarity with schematics, technical drawings, framing carpentry such as metal stud framing or frame carpentry.
Experience with welding, tile laying, masonry work or remodeling is a plus but not required.
Excellent problem-solving skills with an eye for detail; ability to read schematics and technical instructions accurately.
Valid safety certifications related to construction sites; OSHA training preferred. Pay: $30.00 - $38.00 per hour
