About the Role

We are looking for a high-energy, organized Assistant Project Manager to join our growing commercial division. In this role, you will work directly under our Senior Project Managers to ensure our commercial builds and renovations stay on track. This is a "boots on the ground" role where you will balance office-based administrative tasks with active site visits across the Raleigh-Durham area.

Key Responsibilities

Project Documentation: Manage the lifecycle of RFIs, submittals, and change orders. Ensure all project files are current and accessible.
Subcontractor Coordination: Assist in soliciting bids, reviewing scopes of work, and scheduling independent contractors to keep the timeline moving.
Site Inspections: Conduct regular site walks to verify progress, document quality control, and ensure safety protocols are being followed.
Meeting Support: Attend and document weekly OAC (Owner-Architect-Contractor) meetings and subcontractor coordination meetings.
Procurement: Track long-lead materials and equipment deliveries to prevent site delays.
Closeout Management: Lead the "punch list" process and compile O&M manuals to ensure a smooth hand-off to the client.

Qualifications

Experience: 1–3 years of experience in construction (internships count!) or a strong background in a related trade.
Education: Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred but not required for candidates with solid field experience.
Technical Skills: Experience with Bluebeam, Procore, or similar takeoff and management software.
Personal Traits: You must be a "problem solver" who can handle the fast-paced nature of a job site and communicate professionally with both crews and clients.
Mobility: Valid driver’s license and the ability to travel between job sites in the Triad and Eastern NC markets.
Positive Contributors: Team players who work well with others and can step in to help the team accomplish common goals. A positive attitude is a must so that candidate can be a problem solver rather than issue creator.

Pay: $42,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
