**Job Summary**

We are seeking a skilled and reliable **HVAC Technician Specialist** to maintain and repair a wide range of heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), refrigeration, and specialty equipment across our restaurant locations. This role ensures optimal performance of climate control systems, kitchen refrigeration, ice cream machines, espresso equipment, and general facility/grounds-related mechanical systems to support safe, efficient, and high-quality operations in a fast-paced food service environment.

**Key Responsibilities**

- Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnosis, repair, and installation of HVAC systems (rooftop units, split systems, exhaust fans, make-up air units) to maintain comfortable indoor environments in dining areas and kitchens.

- Service and repair commercial refrigeration equipment, including walk-in coolers/freezers, reach-in units, prep tables, ice machines, and display cases to ensure food safety temperatures and compliance with health regulations.

- Maintain and troubleshoot specialty kitchen equipment such as ice cream/frozen dessert machines (soft-serve, batch freezers), espresso/coffee machines, ovens, fryers, and other appliances with mechanical, electrical, or refrigeration components.

- Inspect, clean, and repair ventilation systems, hoods, ductwork, and related components to ensure proper airflow, energy efficiency, and fire safety.

- Handle general facility maintenance tasks, including minor plumbing/electrical issues tied to equipment, grounds equipment (e.g., outdoor condensers, patio heaters), and emergency repairs to minimize downtime.

- Respond promptly to service calls, breakdowns, or temperature alarms; prioritize critical kitchen/refrigeration issues.

- Document all work performed, parts used, and system conditions in maintenance logs or digital systems; recommend upgrades or efficiency improvements.

- Comply with EPA regulations for refrigerant handling/recovery, OSHA safety standards, and local health codes.

- Collaborate with restaurant managers and staff to schedule maintenance with minimal disruption to operations.

**Qualifications & Requirements**

- High school diploma or equivalent; technical/vocational training in HVAC/R preferred.

- 3–5+ years of experience in commercial HVAC, refrigeration, and/or food service equipment maintenance (restaurant/multi-site experience strongly preferred).

- EPA Section 608 Certification (Type II or Universal) required for refrigerant handling.

- Valid driver's license and clean driving record (company vehicle provided).

- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, refrigeration cycles, controls, and troubleshooting tools (multimeters, gauges, recovery machines).

- Familiarity with ice cream machines (e.g., Taylor, Carpigiani), espresso equipment, and commercial kitchen appliances is a plus.

- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.

- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently or in a team.

- Physical ability to lift 50+ lbs, work in tight spaces, climb ladders, and perform tasks in varying temperatures/conditions.

- Availability for on-call/emergency response (rotating or as needed).

**Preferred Skills**

- Experience with multi-site or chain restaurant facilities.

- Basic plumbing, electrical, or general maintenance knowledge.

- Familiarity with energy management systems or preventive maintenance software.

Pay: $24.21 - $29.16 per hour
