Auto Body Technician – Collision & Painting (Bloomington, IL)

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Auto Body Technician with 2+ years of hands-on experience in collision repair, body work, and/or refinishing to join our team in Bloomington, IL. This is an on-site position and is not remote. Candidates local to the Bloomington area are preferred; however, we are open to qualified technicians who are willing to relocate.

Relocation assistance may be available for the right candidate. The ideal technician is skilled in collision repair, panel replacement, structural repair, and refinishing, and takes pride in delivering high-quality workmanship.

Qualifications – Auto Body Technician

2+ years of experience in an auto body shop (collision repair, body work, and/or refinishing)
Strong experience in dent repair, panel replacement, and structural alignment
Experience with MIG welding, sheet metal repair, and refinishing prep work
Ability to work on-site in Bloomington, IL
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship

Qualifications (Preferred)

Dealership, MSO, or high-volume collision center experience
Painting and refinishing experience (prep, spray, and finish work)
Experience with auto estimating tools and repair planning
Strong mechanical, fabrication, and problem-solving skills
Ability to communicate effectively with team members and management

Responsibilities - Auto Body Technician

Perform collision repair including dent removal, panel replacement, and structural repair
Inspect vehicle damage and assist with developing accurate repair plans
Complete refinishing preparation including sanding, masking, and surface preparation
Perform MIG welding, fabrication, and sheet metal repair as needed
Disassemble and reassemble vehicle components during repair processes
Ensure all repairs meet safety standards and manufacturer specifications
Maintain accurate documentation of repair work and communicate progress
Follow all shop safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work environment
