ABC of Wisconsin is seeking an experienced licensed trade professional to serve as our Director of Instruction & Training within one of these trades: Plumbing, Electrical, or HVAC.

If you are a seasoned Master or Journeyperson in Plumbing, HVAC, or Electrical and interested in shaping the next generation of tradespeople, this is your opportunity.

This role combines hands-on instruction with leadership. You will teach, mentor instructors, and help build a high-quality training program from the ground up.

What You’ll Do

Teach & Inspire

· Provide classroom and lab instruction in your licensed trade (Plumbing, HVAC, or Electrical).

· Deliver hands-on, real-world training to registered apprentices.

· Adapt teaching styles to meet diverse adult learners.

Lead & Develop Instructors

· Supervise, mentor, and evaluate trade instructors.

· Participate in hiring, onboarding, and performance management.

· Build a culture of accountability, safety, and excellence.

Help Build the Program

· Support curriculum development aligned with industry standards.

· Oversee lab safety, materials, and equipment.

· Collaborate with industry partners and advisory committees.

· Support apprentices participating in craft competitions.

What We’re Looking For

Required:

· Master or Journeyperson License in Plumbing, HVAC, or Electrical.

· 5–7 years of commercial/industrial trade experience.

· 2–5 years of teaching or instructional experience.

· Supervisory experience (hiring, coaching, performance management).

Preferred:

· Experience working with adult learners.

· OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.

· First Aid/CPR/AED certification.

Ideal Candidate

· A Master tradesperson in a leadership role.

· An experienced instructor excited to help launch a new school.

· A field leader or foreman interested in shaping workforce development.

· Passionate about mentoring the next generation of skilled trades professionals.

Work Environment

This position operates in both classroom and lab/shop settings. Ability to lift 50+ lbs required.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year

Experience:

Commercial/industrial trade: 5 years (Preferred)
teaching or instructional: 2 years (Preferred)
