Responsibilities

Install, test, and troubleshoot low voltage systems including CCTV surveillance, fire alarms, access control, intrusion detection systems (IDS), sensors, and telecommunication wiring.
Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to accurately execute system design plans.
Conduct cabling and wiring for security systems, alarm systems, sensors, and networking infrastructure using hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently.
Perform routine maintenance and repairs on existing low voltage systems to ensure optimal performance.
Collaborate with project managers, electricians, and construction teams to coordinate system installation within building frameworks.
Utilize remote access software to diagnose issues remotely when applicable; document all service activities thoroughly.
Provide field service support by troubleshooting electrical issues related to low voltage components and ensuring compliance with NEC (National Electrical Code) standards.

Skills

Strong knowledge of computer networking principles and telecommunication systems for effective system integration.
Mechanical aptitude combined with familiarity with construction practices for seamless installation processes.
Experience working as a service technician in security or alarm system sales environments is highly desirable.
Proficiency in reading schematics, technical diagrams, and understanding electrical concepts related to low voltage wiring.
Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, and fire alarm testing equipment for precise installations.
Knowledge of surveillance technologies such as CCTV cameras, sensors, alarms, and remote monitoring software.
Ability to interpret technical manuals and schematics accurately while adhering to NEC standards; familiarity with locksmithing is a plus.
Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose electrical issues quickly on-site.
Strong communication skills for coordinating with team members and explaining technical details to clients when needed.
