Position Summary

The Crane Operator plays a critical role in executing safe, precise, and efficient tree removals. This position requires strong situational awareness, sound judgment, and clear communication with climbers and crew members to ensure every job is completed safely and professionally.

This is not a seat-filler role—we are looking for someone who takes pride in doing the job right every time.

Key Responsibilities

Safely operate crane equipment during tree removals and technical lifts
Coordinate closely with climbers and ground crew on rigging, picks, and workflow
Maintain full awareness of load control, swing path, drop zones, and crew positioning
Perform pre-trip inspections and daily equipment checks
Keep production moving efficiently without compromising safety or quality
Represent the company professionally on customer properties
Contribute to a culture of accountability, communication, and high standards

Required Qualifications

Proven experience operating cranes in tree work or similar environments
NCCCO Telescopic Boom-Fixed Cab (TSS) certification (straight boom cranes)
NCCCO Articulating Boom Crane (ABC) or Articulating Boom Crane with Winch (ABW) certification (knuckleboom/tree work)
Ability to pass internal equipment evaluation
Strong commitment to safety and teamwork

Preferred Qualifications

Tree industry crane experience
CDL (Commercial Driver’s License)
Signalperson and/or rigging experience
Experience working in tight access areas, near homes, and around utilities
