Shipyard Welder / Fabricator

We are hiring experienced, multi-process welders/fabricators to join our growing shipyard team. If you take pride in high-quality welding and fabrication work and want steady projects on significant marine vessels, this is an excellent opportunity.

Responsibilities

- Weld and fabricate steel components and marine structures

- Perform MIG, Flux-Core, Stick, and occasional TIG welding

- Fit, prep, and assemble materials from drawings or verbal instruction

- Complete repairs and fabrication on:

Maine State Ferries

U.S. Coast Guard vessels

U.S. Navy craft

Tug boats

Barges

Commercial fishing vessels

Aquaculture vessels & equipment

- Support special projects and custom fabrication work

- Work safely in a fast-paced shipyard environment

Qualifications

- Required: Proficiency in MIG and Flux-Core

- Required: Proficiency in Stick welding

- Preferred: TIG welding ability

- Ability to fabricate, fit, and measure accurately

- Ability to read and interpret basic fabrication drawings

- Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail

- Marine or shipyard experience is a plus

- AWS certifications a plus but not required

About the Work Environment

This position involves indoor and outdoor shipyard work, climbing, lifting, and working in various weather conditions. Safety, communication, and teamwork are essential.
