The Combo Welder must be trained in a variety of welding processes, , SMAW and occasional FCAW depending on the material being used. Must possess the ability to set up equipment and weld either pipe, plate or structural steel using or SMAW. Must produce quality work with reasonable efficiency. Will obtain certification as necessary. Must learn and understand all safety hazards related to the work and also learn to safely and effectively use or operate work related tools and equipment. Will be required to work in a plant operations or construction jobsite setting.

We are hiring experienced Combo welders for permanent positions with our company, we have been in this industry 37+ years
You must have of stick (SMAW) welding experience . This is for a permanent position.

Responsibilities

The following are intended as general illustrations of the work in this job class and are not all-inclusive for this position.
Prepare materials to be welded and weld components
Perform maintenance on welding torches and equipment
Perform simple piping installations and repairs
Assist other mechanics or craft workers as needed

Most jobs do not pay peridium

Work mainly in the Geismar, La area

Must be able to pass both weld test listed below.

6G position 6010 root / 7018 fill and cap all uphill on 6" CS schedule 80 pipe
6G position on 2" SS schedule 10 pipe all tig welding.

Must have reliable transportation. Most of our work is local, Geismar and St. Gabriel area. We do travel out of state occasionally.

You need to have a current OSHA card
and TWIC card
Hourly pay based on experience average compensation $35 to $42 per hour.
