As we rapidly expand our commercial division, we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Commercial Project Manager to spearhead our large-scale roofing and high-voltage solar panel installations.
The Role:
We are looking for a seasoned Project Manager well-versed in commercial construction, large-scale roofing systems (TPO, flat roofs, metal, shingle), and high-voltage solar electrical systems. You will take full ownership of our commercial projects (some exceeding $1M+), ensuring that the physical roofing installation, structural framing, and complex electrical integrations are executed safely, profitably, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:

End-to-End Project Management: Oversee large commercial roofing and solar projects from the Notice to Proceed (NTP) through final inspection and closeout packages.

Electrical & Solar Integration: Direct the installation of high-voltage solar panels, inverters, racking systems, and battery backups (e.g., Tesla Powerwalls). Coordinate utility interconnections (e.g., ComEd) and ensure all electrical work meets local codes and safety standards.

Subcontractor & Crew Coordination: Schedule and manage in-house field crews, licensed electricians, and specialized subcontractors. Ensure labor hours align with job budgets and productivity formulas.

Material Procurement & Logistics: Oversee the accurate ordering and timely staging of commercial roofing materials, solar components, custom skylights, and heavy equipment (cranes, dumpsters) directly to the job site.

Quality Assurance & Safety: Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols (OSHA, harness use, high-voltage safety). Perform site inspections to proactively identify structural, mold, or electrical issues before installation begins.

Client Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for commercial property managers, building owners, and stakeholders. Handle change orders, project milestones, and dispute resolution with a high level of professionalism.

System Tracking: Maintain accurate, real-time project data in our tech stack (Jobber, ClickUp, HubSpot), ensuring all permits, daily crew checklists, and site photos are documented.

Qualifications:

Experience: 5+ years of dedicated Project Management experience in commercial construction, specifically overseeing commercial roofing (flat/TPO/metal) and commercial solar PV installations.

Technical Expertise: Strong background in high-voltage electrical systems, conduit running, panel upgrades, and solar grid interconnections.

Leadership: Proven ability to manage multi-disciplinary crews (roofers, electricians, laborers) and hold teams accountable for deliverables and timelines.

Communication: Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal) for client-facing interactions. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is highly preferred to communicate effectively with field crews.

Tech-Savvy: Comfortable using project management and field service software (experience with Jobber, ClickUp, Roofr, or CompanyCam is a major plus).

Certifications: OSHA 30 preferred. Familiarity with local Illinois/Chicagoland building and electrical codes.
