Position Overview

Sol Cypress Hotel, A Marriott Tribute Portfolio, is seeking a dependable and hospitality-driven Maintenance Technician to join our Engineering team. As a boutique lifestyle hotel located along the San Antonio River Walk, we pride ourselves on delivering elevated guest experiences that reflect Marriott’s standards of service, style, and guest recognition.

This position plays a key role in maintaining the overall appearance, functionality, and comfort of the hotel while ensuring every guest interaction is handled with professionalism, urgency, and care. The ideal candidate will take pride not only in maintaining the property, but also in contributing to a welcoming and memorable environment for all guests, including Marriott Bonvoy Elite members.

Essential Responsibilities

Provide professional, friendly, and courteous service to all guests and team members.
Respond promptly to guest room maintenance requests and public area concerns with a strong sense of urgency and hospitality.
Assist with maintenance operations including, but not limited to:
HVAC systems
Refrigeration
Plumbing
Electrical systems
Water softeners and treatment systems
Ice machines
Kitchen equipment
Lighting
Painting and wall covering repairs
Emergency systems and equipment
Maintain and troubleshoot guest room electronic lock systems.
Complete preventive maintenance tasks for guestrooms, public spaces, and hotel equipment according to schedule.
Support the hotel’s luxury boutique atmosphere by ensuring all areas are maintained to Tribute Portfolio brand expectations.
Communicate effectively with all hotel departments to ensure maintenance requests are completed efficiently and professionally.
Coordinate and monitor vendor and service contract compliance as needed.
Recognize maintenance concerns proactively and assist in developing timely solutions.
Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety standards throughout all work areas.

Qualifications

Previous hotel maintenance or engineering experience preferred.
Working knowledge of hotel operations, safety standards, and preventive maintenance programs.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
Ability to provide exceptional service while working in guest-facing environments.
Must be able to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs.
Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods.
Weekend, evening, and holiday availability required.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Valid Driver’s License preferred.
