Position Overview

Commercial Refrigeration Technicians are responsible for diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and installing a wide variety of commercial and industrial refrigeration systems.

Systems and equipment may include:

Parallel rack systems
Walk-in coolers and freezers
Ice machines
Rooftop HVAC units
Refrigeration controls and electrical systems

Additional responsibilities include:

Leak detection and refrigerant recovery/charging
Brazing, piping, and system repairs
Troubleshooting electrical control circuits
Working with LP and natural gas systems
Diagnosing advanced refrigeration controls including Novar and Danfoss systems
Participating in a rotating on-call schedule
Occasional regional travel with overnight stays as needed

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required
5+ years of commercial or supermarket refrigeration experience
EPA Universal Certification required
Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting abilities
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
Ability to climb ladders and lift up to 80 pounds
