Under limited to general supervision, operates and sets-up a variety of machine tool equipment to extremely close and complex tolerances including punch press, press brake, shear and other power equipment of similar complexity. Fabricates component parts where set-ups are non-routine and tolerances are difficult to acquire and maintain with materials mostly consisting of aluminum.

Essential Functions:

Operates and performs set-ups on a variety of machine tool equipment (press brake, punch press, shear) to extremely close and complex tolerances.
Reads and interprets blueprints, production diagrams and assembly drawings.
Checks height, depth and thickness using micrometers, dial indicators, calipers, gauges and other precision-measuring instruments.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Responsible for prompt and regular attendance as scheduled.
Makes complex measurements and advanced shop math calculations.
May inspect fabricated parts.
May be required to work on "first time" projects
May provide computer numerical control programming support.
May participate in process development activities.
May set-up and make "first-article" check on difficult production runs.
May participate in defining strategies to meet quality objectives and in system reviews within the team.
Participates in team meetings as required (safety, problem solving, etc.).
May rotate into other positions within the team as required to meet production requirements.
May participate in training of new team members.
May participate in Arnprior’s selection process.
Problem-solves individually or as part of a group as job duties require.
May be responsible to work overtime.
