Job Summary
We are seeking a Meticulous and detail-oriented Construction Estimator to join our Team at Black Horse Service Solutions/Black Horse Plumbing, Heating & Air located in Turnersville, NJ. In this role you will be instrumental in analyzing project requirements, preparing cost estimates and ensuring our project remain within budget while meeting the highest quality standards. Your expertise will directly contribute to the successful execution of construction projects. Must present skills in accuracy, communication, technical knowledge, experience in residential and construction. Ability to structure an estimate in a way that assist cost optimization , excellent math skills, meet deadines. Ensure projects are feasible for a customer given budget, profitable for the contractor and affordable for the customer on time for everyone. Experience in the field a minimum of 5 years. Whole home energy assessments. BAT certification helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and bid documents related to plumbing and HVAC systems.
Develop comprehensive estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs using industry-standard software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam.
Conduct detailed quantity take-offs, ensuring accuracy for all plumbing and HVAC components.
Collaborate with project managers, subcontractors, and suppliers to gather competitive pricing and negotiate terms that align with project budgets.
Prepare detailed bid proposals, including scope of work, cost breakdowns, and schedules.
Assist in value engineering efforts to optimize project costs without compromising quality or safety standards.
Monitor project budgets during construction to support cost control initiatives and identify potential overruns early.
Maintain organized records of estimates, contracts, and correspondence for audit purposes.

Experience

5 Proven years of experience in construction estimating with a focus on plumbing and HVAC systems within commercial or industrial projects.
Strong knowledge of construction management processes, contracts, and project management principles.
Proficiency with estimating software such as HeavyBid; experience with Bluebeam is highly desirable.
Familiarity with construction site operations, safety protocols, and coordination among trades.
Excellent negotiation skills to secure favorable pricing while fostering positive relationships with vendors and subcontractors.
Demonstrated ability to analyze complex drawings, specifications, and technical documents accurately.
