Job Overview
Rivers Edge Construction is hiring a skilled Finish Trim Carpenter to work on residential restoration and remodeling projects throughout West Michigan.

This is not a rough carpentry role. We work in finished homes where precision matters. You will be installing and matching detailed interior millwork that needs to look like it has always been there.

If you don’t have real finish carpentry experience — this is not the position for you.

Duties

Install built-up door surrounds (pilasters, frieze boards, crown caps – entablature style)
Install and match window trim systems (stools, mitered apron returns, layered casing)
Perform stair and banister repairs (newel posts, balusters, base transitions)
Match existing trim profiles, reveals, and proportions throughout the home
Work in occupied homes with attention to cleanliness and detail

What we are looking for

5+ years of dedicated finish/trim carpentry experience (interior millwork)
Proven experience with:
Built-up door surrounds
Mitered apron returns
Profile matching
Ability to work independently and produce clean, consistent work
Must have own tools
Reliable, detail-oriented, and takes pride in craftsmanship

What This job is not

Not framing
Not rough carpentry
Not “I’ve done some trim before”

If you are not highly skilled in finish work, you will not be a fit.

Pay and Opportunity

$28–$42 per hour (based on real experience and skill level)
