Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Fire Alarm Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, inspecting, maintaining, and repairing fire alarm systems across various commercial and industrial sites. Responsibilities

Install fire alarm systems according to blueprints, schematics, and system design specifications using hand tools, power tools, and CAD software.
Conduct routine inspections and testing of fire alarm components including sensors, control panels, and low voltage wiring to ensure optimal performance.
Read and interpret electrical schematics, construction drawings, and system schematics to accurately assemble and troubleshoot complex fire alarm systems.
Perform system upgrades, repairs, and maintenance on existing fire alarm installations while adhering to NEC (National Electrical Code) standards.
Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, schematics, system design principles, and CAD software related to fire detection systems.
Perform routine maintenance and inspections on existing fire alarm systems to ensure they are functioning properly and comply with local, state, and national codes.
Troubleshoot and repair malfunctions in fire alarm systems, identifying issues through diagnostic tests and repairing or fully replacing faulty components as required
Program fire alarm control panels and devices ensuring proper communication and operation within the system
Conduct fire alarm system tests, including sensitivity testing, battery calculations, and load testing, to verify proper operation of all components
Prepare and maintain detailed documentation, including installation diagrams, maintenance records, and inspection reports, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
Train clients or building occupants on proper use and maintenance of fire alarm systems, including emergency response protocols
Coordinate with fire departments and other emergency services during installations, inspections, and maintenance to ensure systems meet their requirements and facilitate prompt response in case of an alarm
Coordinate with AHJ during inspections
Conduct field service visits for troubleshooting issues, replacing faulty components, and providing technical support for alarm system sales or service requests.

Requirements

Nicet Level 2 or 3 minimum certification
Proven experience as a fire alarm technician or service technician with a solid understanding of fire alarm systems and low voltage electrical work.
Effective communication skills for collaborating with team members, clients, and vendors during installation or service calls.
Travel is required
Background checks will be required
Product specific training will be provided
Relocation is not required

Pay: $60,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
