The City of Oshkosh is seeking a skilled and dedicated Traffic Electrician to maintain and enhance our traffic systems and city facilities. This is an opportunity to contribute significantly to public infrastructure while developing your skills in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Installation and Maintenance:

Construct, install, and maintain traffic signals and city-owned electrical systems across buildings, parks, docks, baseball diamonds, and playgrounds.
Implement and maintain ornamental lighting systems and city fiber optic and copper voice communication networks.
Engage in manual labor and carpentry tasks essential for electrical projects.

Site Preparation and System Location:

Locate and manage underground electrical and communication systems, including hardware and fiber optics.
Ensure site safety through appropriate setup of barricades, warning devices, and equipment.

Data Collection and Reporting:

Collect and analyze traffic data, maintaining precise records.
Generate reports to support infrastructure maintenance and improvement strategies.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience: High school diploma or equivalent; minimum of 2 years of Journeyman level experience.
License: Valid Journeyman or Master Electrician License; Class B CDL or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire..
Technical Skills: Expertise in diagnosing electrical issues and performing repairs.
Problem-solving Skills: Ability to efficiently troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical issues.
Communication Skills: Strong capacity to communicate effectively with team members and the public.
