Electronic/Electrical Mechanic – Class A

Basic Purpose

Troubleshoot and repair complex electrical and electronical equipment and components to standard and efficiently. Install new equipment and components.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:

1.Conduct fault analyses of hardwire relay logic, motor control circuits, motor power circuits, and common utility/lighting circuits.

2. Repair or replace defective equipment parts, using appropriate tools and equipment.

3. Troubleshoot and repair or replace programmable logic controllers (PLC’s) and their components.

4. Write, troubleshoot, modify & diagnose all types of PLC’s used in plant

5. Must be able to follow equipment operation using ladder logic

6. Perform set up, start up, and changeovers for high-speed packaging equipment per production schedule

7. Overhaul machinery and equipment to include component replacements, alignments, and calibration to specifications.

8. Be familiar with instrumentation including pneumatic, electronic, and digital equipment.

9. Install, test, and maintain electrical equipment.

10. Read and understand electronic and electrical schematic diagrams

11. Utilize drawings and blueprints to facilitate maintenance and repairs.

12. Perform installation of new control circuits, modification of existing instrument/electrical systems as requested, to include design, load and implementation of new control logic.

13. Work in all departments in the processing plant environment, which includes cold, damp conditions.

14. Reassemble equipment after completion of inspections, testing, or repairs.

15. Install equipment, machines, wiring, or programs to meet specifications.

16. Provide a means of notification/communication during non-working hours for emergencies. Respond to emergency call-ins within 30 minutes.

17. Ensure shop and surrounding areas are kept clean by the removal of all debris in work areas, work benches and break rooms.

18. Ensure a safe work environment by eliminating unsafe acts or conditions.

19. Ensure and participate in compliance measures to meet GMP, HACCP, SQF and federal standards related to food safety and quality guidelines.

20. Perform other comparable and related duties as assigned.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

Post-secondary certification in electrical maintenance or 5-7 years of experience, journeyman license strongly preferred.
Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools to precision instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices. Provide all hand tools needed to safely perform the job.
Ability to reach schematics.
Good problem-solving and mathematical skills.
Ability to organize the tasks to be performed.
Ability to work with or near blood.
Must be able to read, write, and comprehend English.
Must be self-motivated and be able to work with minimal supervision.
